If you work with social media management and you use Hootsuite, then we have exciting news to share. Hootsuite never rests on its laurels and continues to introduce updates and new, innovative, and practical tools. We’ve curated a comprehensive overview of all the updates rolled out during this year to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of your social media tasks.
Elevate your creative process with the AI-generated OwlyWriter
A feature that has already proved useful to many.
With OwlyWriter AI, you can eliminate the need to constantly reinvent the wheel. The AI writing assistant can rephrase your existing high-performing posts, it can support you in creating a post from scratch, help you draw inspiration from various sources such as topics, blog posts, websites, and even create posts suitable for upcoming holidays.
Export and share your Planner with colleagues
There may be times when it makes sense to show colleagues outside your department (who may not have access to Hootsuite) what you have scheduled for the various platforms in the near future. You can now achieve this effortlessly by sharing your content calendar (Planner) with colleagues through the export options in either PDF or CSV format.
Drive traffic with Hootbio
Hootsuite has listened to your requests, and it is now possible to create a Link In Bio in Hootsuite. Link In Bio refers to the clickable links you can include in your profile to direct followers, for example, to a product page. With Hootbio, you can design a Link In Bio that aligns with your brand’s design and effectively drives traffic from your different social media channels to your website.
Inbox 2.0 and Community Management
One of the major highlights that has already garnered significant attention is the long-awaited Inbox 2.0. This new inbox will (if it has not already) play a pivotal role in enhancing and embracing Community Management to a much greater extent for many of you.
The new inbox offers features such as improved queue visibility, the ability to add private notes, message categorization and analysis by themes and tags, conversation prioritization, and even the ability to like Facebook comments and X-reposts (formerly Twitter retweets).
With the new Inbox 2.0, you can now respond to inquiries more quickly and effectively than ever before. You can monitor ongoing conversations, allowing you to avoid multiple team members handling the same message simultaneously.
Additionally, you can manage public dark posts on Facebook – these are posts used for advertising purposes and resemble organic content but are not featured on the company’s timeline.
Private conversations can now be handled from a single place, and you can now create saved responses, auto-replies, and set up automations to expedite the response process.
Furthermore, you can leverage the power of Analytics and CSAT surveys (Customer Satisfaction surveys) to comprehend the value of your community management efforts and integrate with a CRM system.
You can also access your inbox through the Hootsuite app on your smartphone, ensuring you can stay connected while on the go.

Additionally, Hootsuite has introduced Advanced Inbox features available as add-ons. This includes the ability to connect the platform with a Virtual Agent API that can respond to inquiries before an employee is assigned to the conversation. You can also set up rules for prioritizing each conversation based on channel type, topic, and contact group, making it easier to manage and prioritize urgent discussions.
Language recognition is another new and valuable feature in the Advanced Inbox solution. With language recognition, Hootsuite can send automated responses in the customer’s language and simultaneously route the conversation to a team capable of handling it in that specific language.
Inbox 2.0 and Advanced Inbox features offer even more valuable new functionalities than what we have mentioned here. If you are interested in learning more about these opportunities, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Use Canva directly from the Composer
If you’re already using Canva, here are some exciting news. And if you are not, here’s a compelling reason to start. This graphic design tool helps numerous businesses create stunning visual content for their social media.
Not only can Canva be installed as an app within Hootsuite, but now, the design tool can also be accessed directly from the Composer. This means you no longer need to switch between various tools and browser windows. Instead, you can design, edit, and crop images, and much more with Canva seamlessly integrated into the Composer.

At the same time, you can save time by using various presets in the Composer to crop images for different platforms. This way, you’ll hit the mark from the beginning, regardless of the social media platform you’ve chosen for your post.
Publish longer Instagram Reels and Stories
If you work with Stories and Reels on Instagram and want to use longer narratives and enrich your content, there is more good news for you.
One of this year’s updates from Hootsuite makes it possible to upload and schedule longer videos in the form of Reels with a duration of up to 15 minutes and Stories of up to 60 seconds.
Additionally, you can now choose a custom cover for your Reels, meaning you do not have to make do with an auto-generated thumbnail.
Competitive Benchmarking
Do you want to know how well you are performing on social media compared to your competitors? As a new feature, you can now easily discover this with Hootsuite Analytics.
With Competitive Benchmarking in Analytics, you can effortlessly compare your content strategy and performance with other brands. Gain insights into what your competitors are doing on social media, find inspiration, or identify ways to enhance your posts by monitoring their performance, posting frequency, post types, engagement, choice of hashtags, and more. You can compare content strategies across X (formerly Twitter), Facebook pages, and Instagram Business accounts.
Industry Benchmarking
In addition to being able to compare and analyze your performance against competitors, it is now also possible to compare your social media performance with similar companies in your industry.
Hootsuite refers to this as Industry Benchmarking, and with this tool, you can, among other things, compare engagement, impressions, and traffic.
This allows you to identify what is effective and where you need to make improvements in order to enhance your performance, generate more traffic, and increase your conversion rate.
Publish Instagram Stories directly from Hootsuite
You read that right. The days of a troublesome app workflow every time you wanted to create a story are over. You can now publish and schedule Stories directly through Hootsuite, all in one place – namely, in the Composer.

OwlyWriter AI assists with content for social holidays
As mentioned earlier, Hootsuite has introduced a creative partner, OwlyWriter AI. But that is not all.
OwlyWriter now suggests local and global holidays and popular events directly in your Planner. This presents a perfect opportunity for all the creative minds out there looking to find new ways to engage with your audience and boost engagement. OwlyWriter can also assist you in celebrating these holidays with creative, on-brand content for your posts.
Approval flows have expanded
You probably know the value of having an extra set of eyes on a message before hitting the send button or on a post before sharing it on social media. Hootsuite certainly does, and in that regard, they have introduced two new approval flows.
Approval workflow in the inbox
With an approval flow in your inbox, you can submit messages for review by a colleague before they are sent to customers. If an employee needs messages, responses, or comments approved, it’s essential that they have Limited, Responder, or Custom – Comment and reply with Approval permissions on the specific social network. Additionally, the individual responsible for approving messages, responses, or comments should have Advanced, Editor, or Custom – Approve Messages permissions on the given social network.

Flexible approval workflow in the Composer
Perhaps not everything requires approval by a colleague before proceeding. Therefore, a flexible approval workflow has been implemented in the Composer. This allows you to manage the approval process from post to post, so that when necessary, you can use Hootsuite to have a colleague approve the content before it gets published.

If you are interested in setting up approval flows, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Gain insight into your content on YouTube and Pinterest
As the headline says, you can now gain insights into how your content performs on YouTube and Pinterest. You can create informative reports and gain insights into which Pins and videos generate the highest engagement and much more. All this information can be used to enhance your work.

Improve your social ROI with Advanced Analytics
Advanced Analytics is an add-on that centers around a deeper understanding, documentation, and enhancement of the effectiveness of your social campaigns, ultimately focusing on ROI. Advanced Analytics supports Google Analytics 4 and Adobe Analytics, providing you with a comprehensive overview of all your social and web-based metrics. If you’re interested in learning more about Advanced Analytics, don’t worry; we will do a deep dive on the topic soon.
